Project Description
The Daandine Expansion Project included the installation of additional well facilities and new gas and water gathering pipelines in the Daandine Gas field near Dalby in Queensland’s Surat Basin. Project including the construction of approximately 30km of gathering system pipeline and well pad infrastructure for 22 CSG wells.
CCS Surveys Responsibilities
CCS Surveys was commissioned to provide all survey services required for the construction of the pipeline gathering system and well pad facilities, This included, ROW marking, topsoil volume surveys and strip calculations, trench and pipe alignment set out, pipe alignment design, well pad infrastructure design and set out, and as built surveys and associated drawings.
The project included as-built survey of approximately 3100 HDPE pipe welds and various other pipeline features. Weekly as-built plans were delivered to the client to ensure all data was gathered correctly and nothing was overlooked.
The project construction period was approximately 6 months commencing in April 2015. However, CCS Surveys were heavily involved in the project for approximately 2 years prior to construction commencing. The preliminary work included Greenfield surveys for land access, cultural heritage and environmental assessment purposes. Therefore, CCS has seen this project through from the concept phase to commissioning providing all the require survey services.
NEW ACLAND COAL MINE STAGE 3 EXPANSION (NAC3)

Project Description
The Stage 3 expansion of the New Acland Coal Mine includes construction of a new rail loop, overland conveyor, loading facilities, Levy banks, new mining leases and growth of the existing mine production from 5mtpa to 10mtpa. The project is located approximately 40 km North West of Toowoomba in Queensland.
CCS Surveys Responsibilities
CCS Surveys was commissioned to provide the survey services required for the detailed design of new infrastructure to be constructed as part of NAC3. Survey services included contour & Detail Surveys, Property Boundary surveys, DCDB rectification, LiDAR verification and enhancement, and establishment of Primary Survey Control for the project.
CCS Surveys was also heavily involved in the Mining Lease Application and assisting in the statutory requirements for the granting of a Mining Lease. This included the preparation of Mining Lease Application documentation and plans, preparation of Metes and Bounds description, placement of Mining Lease application posts, and finally the survey of the Mining Lease as per the statutory requirements. CCS Surveys has been involved in the project for nearly 10 years, working with New Hope Group, to advance the granting of the Mining Lease.
With respect to surveying and mining tenure, CCS Surveys is one of the few survey companies with the knowledge and experience to see mining projects from the Greenfield stage to commissioning and production through to rehabilitation. CCS Surveys has proven this time and time again with involvement in some of the most successful and large scale mining projects in Queensland.
